While using my nine month old FZ-10, "system error" appeared on the LCD. I can't use or download my pics. The lens will notcontract into the off position. Anyone else come accross this? The camera seems to be useless. I have had zero problems so far.

Any info would be helpful.

hyave you tried changing batteries and putting in a fresh memory card? if those don't help, i dunno what it could be... "system error" isn't even on the list of error messages in the troubleshooting guide for the FZ20...

I have seen a couple threads about that over the last couple years.

If I remember one person gently twisted and pushed to get the lens to retract and another said that leaving the battery out for a couple days fixed the problem.

Maybe you can start with one or the other until someone has a positive solution.

Thanks. I tried the "gently" twist and push. Seemed to work. Was able to remove photos and triedthe camera this morning.

I just hope this isnt the begining of the end of my FZ-10.

Thanks again.
