nice photos of a pileated woodpecker. those used to be common as dirt around here, when i was a kid... now i almost never see one! too damn many people... :sad:

nice shots - after the first one, i like the crop the best as the woody is shown offmore in a larger size. Would be super if you could do a crop / resize of the first shot :-)

Wow; great shots mate! Past Sunday, I made a walk, heard the peckers, saw their hole, waited, waited and waited, but no action at all :?There was a bird inside as I could hear it communicate with it's fellow -> only result was pain in the shoulders :G

Nice! I like the first one too, esp the colour contrast of the bird and the background.

Composition wise, the bird is too center.....maybe recropping it may help composition?????

All very good shots.

The last one haslots ofCA in the branches on the right sidethat detracts from the woodpecker.
