I am wanting to buy the LC1, does anybody have any experience with the LC1?

Is this camera worth it, or should I get the Rebel XT?

Thanks

I don't have experience with either camera (FZ20 here) but I think if I were going to spend that kind of cash ($1000) I would want a camera that at least had a Bulb (B) setting for the shutter.. On the other hand, I've been watching (and considering) the dSLRs and what I've read is that for the canons to really perform, you need the high priced "L" lenses. Could be bunk, I don't know.. Someday I'll pick one up and decide for myself..

Good luck,
Jeff

Two different beasts. Digicam vs DSLR. Read some reviews and find out which suits your needs. There are a lot of options in the $1000 range that are very good cameras. Tamron and Sigma make excellent lens so you can get great quality without needing Canon L glass, etc. 2cents.

I'd read this review by Andy Piper (who also has an FZ10 as his other digital cam)

http://www.photo.net/equipment/leica/digilux2/

and this one at luminoius Lanscape:

The LC1/Digilux 2 from what I've read can produce some stunning pictures with a quality to them that the DSLR's can only match with the high end lenses. Its all going to come down to what you want to do with the cam - portraits, low light, sports then I'd go for a DSLR. If its anything else, then the LC1 is more than up to the job.
