Well it looks like the competition may have finally caught up. Panasonic really MUST address their issues with the FZ series or it will lose a serious number of customers.
I have never understood why Panasonic is so useless when it comes to listening to their customers. Surely how difficult is it to make the EVF/LCD screen gain up?

PANASONIC GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

PS. I do actually like my FZ10 but I will not trade up until Panasonic fixes the problems.

Looks like a great camera. Pany's first real competiton. They've beenmostly unchallenged for 2 years in the uz market. With the swivel lcd and the superior video/audio, she's gotsome added attractions. Very sexy. SD card works. 4AA's don't. Considerably heavier than the fz5 w/ battery(s). No biggy. I like theFZ add-on capabilty better than Canon's but the FZ5 adapter is a less than a stellar performance to say the least. Canon's isn't much worse.

Now we just need some images. That's Pany/Leica turf but Canon makes pretty good lens, too. Should be interesting. Hard ball time!

I checked these out also, and they seem to suffer from the same problems as the S1 IS. Look a little grainy (if thats the right term, not noisey... just kinda losing a bit of detail). But i guess we shall see what comes of it!

How did they get that many megapixels into a presumabley small CCD? The 8.1 Sony CCD doesn't have a great reputation from a noise standpoint. At $500 list, it's priced to move. Plus there's the Canon label factor. Might be predatory pricing. Likin' the LCD swivel.

Not a good thing for Panasonic. Be interesting to see how they respond. It's a pretty facinating business.
