This little tree is native to Texas and Mexico. At this time of year (spring) it is loaded with fragrent blooms. I tried to capture the light and shadow of the late afternoon sun. John has inspired me to work with the FZ1v2 in this area of photography. It is not as easy as one might think. Comments are welcome:!:

Very pretty shot, nice lighting, the play of light on the stem is significant, shallow DOF it all works for me.

Beautiful! You did an excellent job - the exposure is just right and I love the soft background. It enhances, rather than competes, with the subject. And as Nick said, the lighting makes it a standout. Well done!
