The FZ5 owners manual warns against taking pictures with the hood in the "temporary storage position" (p.21).

Only concern I can see is that it might interfere with the focus-assist lamp. Seems like it's nice and convenient to keep it there until needed, and I've taken lots of pix with it attached in the storage position.

Any thoughts?
