manual/mechanical zoom ring (save battery, faster, easyer)
non-collapsable stationary first element (faster start up cus lens don't have to extend, also save battery, also camera can "sleep" and be awoke with lens ready to go)
um what else
all metal construction
crazy fast predictive autofocus
maybe a bigger battery? there has got to be enough space in the 10/15/20's

I completely agree with Nick on this - if Panasonic can get a digicam with nearly everything he has listed- a fast f2.0-f2.8 Leica lens; 8X Optical zoom; OIS; a 6MP 2/3 CCD with a good ISO 800 and noise free ISO400 then you have a DSLR killer. Even if the price is close to or more than the low end DSLR it would still be a winner - the quality of the lens alone would be worth it.

Here's another link at the Leica forum - a Canon 20D 8MP or a 5MP LC1/Digilux 2, obviously the 20D at larger print sizes is the winner but if your ead the thread the 5MP D2/LC1 can hold its own.

Edible now thats what I'm talkin about. What if you get lost on a lengthy photo outing and need nourishment. I think it should also have some water stored inside to wash the camera down.......... What flavors should it come in???

Taken during the same session. Ahhh... young (er... not so young) love. Whatever it takes, George ol' boy, to get those gas prices down. :G

Oh... uh yes... ... it's a camera forum. Ah hem, I think this pic might have been taken with an FZ-10.

Hey Nick! I am a fan of sorts of your recipes and edibles. I would like to know what happened of your wrestling challenge to Tony Blair. I bet he chickened out:-):Gotherwise it would have been a treat to all camera lovers...consumers, prosumers,DSLRKs and DSLRs alike.
