I`m happy with my FZ-5 but i don`t understand why all the reviews state that the images are dead sharp, even too sharp.
I`ve got to admit that i find them a little bit blurry...i would have liked them to be sharper......when i look at the images i took 2 years ago with my sony dsc-p10 which was a ultra compact camera, the picture when much sharper ?
Wonder why ?

This is just a guess as it would help to see a photo with the problem.

But it may be you are using 9 pt auto focus and the camera is focusing on the wrong subject. It would be easier to use center or spotfocus to see if that is the problem.

a couple other things you may want to try

Make sure the manual focus switch is set on autofocus

Set IS on mode 2

turn off continuous auto focus.

As I say it would help if you post a photo with the exif intact.

genece the FZ5 doesn't have a manual focus so no danger or that being switched on :G

But seriously though they sound like good suggestions. Are all pictures like this? Perhaps your camera is faulty?

Could you please post up some samples?

Go have a look at

http://www.pixagogo.com/PhilippeLuyckx

The album : "taken with panasonic fz-5"

I`m not saying the pics are way out of focus but they are blurry, right ?

IS is always on mode 2 and continuous autofocus is always off

I use the center high speed autofocus

Take a good look at the pics....especially in their original size

Am i dreaming ?

IT`s a 17`tft screen with 1280x1024 resolution...anyway i view the other pics made by my other cameras on the same screen.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"The thing is i expected better..that`s the main reason why i picked the fz-5 otherwise i would have chosen the KM z5 because i like the AA batteries and the 640 movie mode.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I might still decide to change but i have to make up my mind before saturday....what do you think ? would i be worst off with the KM z5 0r z3 ...image wise i mean ?

I would be very happy with those as the are as good as any non DSLR original size photos I think I have seen.

Not that I think there is any point in viewing photos at original size.

I can say one thing a 2 mP camera will be sharper in most cases( all other things being equal)at original size because the size is smaller.
