I want to buy a small, light digicam and have already narrowed it down to the Panasonic DMC FX7 and Pentax Optio S5n. The Pana's O.I.S. is a big plus for me but I read somewhere that it isn't much good if you rotate the camera around its Z-axis to portrait mode. If this is true, I'm very disappointed as I will be using the O.I.S. for concert photography and will be shooting mainly in portrait mode. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I did a lot of research before I bought my FX7, and I have never heard that. It is the same OIS system used on all the Panasonics, and I own 3 of them, never had a portrait problem with them. Where did you get that information?

Thx, I don't remember where I read it, I think it was somewhere on this board.
