was just wondering how necessary a lens hood is if one already has the raynox adapter? doesnt the adapter do the job of the lens hood already? thanks!

The Raynox adapter changes the mount opening to 52mm. The Panasonic adapter is a 62mm and places accessory to far from the Leica front element. The lens hood, fits on the front of either adapter blocks ambient light to give your pictures more saturation. I suggest the 52mm Hama multi-lens collapsible rubber hood. You should use a 52mm UV on the adapter for total lens and mechanism protection.

I have the set-up that LoveLife suggested and a slight correction on the Panasonic hood. It is 72mm and quite expensive. I went with Raynox due to cost of filters and I had52mm filters already from my 35mm.

There are three models of Hama hoods. Telephoto Wideangle and Multi-lens. Make sure to get the multi-lens.
