I held a 4x magnifying glass over the front of my FZ20 (supplied adapter w/uv filter), It allowed me to zoom in to 12x and focus within inches of the subject. At 12x I seem to get very limited DOF. But I am no macro expert either.

Good capture with your magnifying glass.

At the top portion of the picture it shows some CA.
