I did do a search and read the posts, but as a relatively new owner, I don't have a lot of confidence with my judgement buying aftermarket items. I located what seems like a good buy http://www.keybattery.com/product_in...1040/ad/google, is anyone familiar with this? I'd sure appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I have a coupe of additional batteries. I like them both and wouldn't recommend one over the other.

One is a Maxell and is a bit less money that the one from Overstock. It is rated at 680 Mah.

The other is from Overstock.com and is a bit more powerful at 800 mah.

There are other reputable site like ebatts.com etc... Check them out.

Both of my additional batteries outperform the original Panny battery. And all fit both the camera FZ20, and the charger just like the original. I have put a lot of miles on all of them.

Good luck and let us know what you do.

Thanks for the response and the links!

I had originally thought I'd just go with one battery since it is good for so many shots, but after experiencing the camera, I never want to not have it ready to go. I also find myself charging the battery before it's fully discharged, that's not good, right?

It does not matter when you charge this battery. The battery is good for about two years holding a full charge.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find anything in the manual about that.

I bought the 680 Mah Maxell from buy.com. The 800 Mah was tempting, but some reviews suggested possible problems with it fitting well in the camera. So far I am happy with the purchase. I just thought somebody might benefit from the feedback.
