I finnally bougth a FZ20 trough eBay and I tested her Continuos AF capabilities.

I am very upset with them, it really does not track and any object speed. She is even no able to track my kids running!

I took some shots on a Polo game, but I have to focus and then shot, camera was not able to track, that make a lot of out of focus shots. Only in 5-10% of the time she tracks, the remaing time was not any difference among AF and CAF.

Seems to be, the only solution is to expend more money on a F100 and carry all that pounds of equipment. I am not sure if I like to come back to such effort.

This a is shot of that game took at1/250 f2.8 under a quite cloudy day

I have found that with my FZ10, good light is essential. Very cloudy days drastically affect all the NON-DSLR cameras (because of the size of the CCD?).

While I do not use C-AF that blur is not because the picture is out of focus the blur with the hat is due to motion.

And I think the picture was overexposed so I tried this, but the only way to stop that blur would have been to raise the ISO to get a faster shutter speed.

I agree with Gene ..you need a faster shutter speed and since you're at f2.8 already you'll have to increase ISO. Focus is not the problem.

Sorry guys, maybe the picture was not the right one, that was only to show the subject over which Ishot.

Half of pictures was out of focus, and I deleted them.

The problem is easy, I selected CAF, and follow the object with half shuttertill green light gets on, butwhen object start to move towards me, the light keep green but does not Track neither focus, just like the regular AF.

As a result, you are only able to remove the shutter and push half way again. So, No Tracking.-

AF mode was settle to 3 areas AF

Try spot focus, burst mode and higher shutter speed. Also shooting at f2.8, full zoom gives less DOF.

I think that is the reason I keep C-AF turned off.

I get a much higher ratio of good shots with it turned off.

But something moving towards you is really tough.

What the Burst mode should do to make AF tracking work?

Shouldnt be more dificult to track on spot AF because it has more change to target a no contrast area?

Sorry about to many questions.-
