i just ordered the sunpak 433d for my FZ20 and at checkout i noticed that it said

"Sunpak 433D f/Canon Manual Focus"

is it supposed to be manual focus? i got it with the canon mount because when i go dSLR it'll be a Canon so i might use it, but anyways, will that work fine? what are the recommended settings for an art museum setting?(that's what i ordered it for, for now anyways)

I think the 433D should be fine for both your FZ, and a potential future Canon.

I think the Sunpak 433AF is the "auto focus" version of the flash. I think it lacks a light sensor on the flash, so it doesn't work in auto mode on the FZ. It needs a hotshoe that supports TTL.

I don't know if the 433D truly supports TTL on the Canon, or if it simply reads the Canon's aperture through the hotshoe, and sets the Sunpak's auto mode accordingly. I would guess the later.

Maybe a 433 owner could speak up?
