Darn peacock was up on the roof this morning, woke my son up honking outside his upstairs bedroom window. I just had to go out and 'shoot' him!

Love my FZ5!

Troop, in as much as I can see what a pain they may be, I would love to be able to say peacocks wandered aroiund on the roof of my house (or in my yard, or neighborhood, LOL). Lucky you! (and nice shots - love the one where he's giving you the business!)

Suze, it is nice living in the foothills, but along with peacocks, you also get guys like this. Took this tonight on Fri the 13th, I think he's harmless, but he sure didn't want to pose for my FZ's flash. Kept hiding his head. I think he is about 5 feet long.

I took both these in Tele-Macro mode.
Panasonic must have invented that just for situation like this. I don't see asking Mr. Snake to pose in the wild at 15cm. Thanks Fred for all th info on Tele-Macro! Definately a very shallow DOF in telemacro. Don't ask how I got his head in focus on the other side of that flower, because I don't know!
