Thought id share some ideas for a cheap macro lens .I made this out of 2 "PVC

It has 2 pieces of glass 1 from a 2.5x magnify loaded in the front and2nd lens of unknown specsthat i disasembledand removed from anold 80's Sony Cam corder.

I made a outer ring around the lens from the sony and used rubber strips for a tight fit inside the pvc .

I used my spare Raynox adapter as a mounting tube , used a laithe to turn down the PVC to fit the mag glass and the raynox to where they fit tightly but can be disasemble easily .Its not finished yet because im still playing with the distance between the 2 glass's and the cam lens .

Need some insite from you mac pro's take a look at these and give me some feedback . I call it the Mac :-)

I think you've got something there. Isn't it great to experiment? I love tinkering!

What's that great movie line? I think it goes something like this: "Don't you just love it when a plan comes together."

Keep us posted on the refining progress. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I'm impressed.

Hiroshi

Great shots. You may have to go into production of your new macro.
