Trying to decide between the standard DMW-LTZ10 1.5x lens from Panasonic and the various teleconverters. For use with FZ10 and FZ20 cameras for wildlife shots.

Thanks in adavance for constructive comments

Plenty of opinions/info by doing a search in this forum. I settled on the TCON-14B. Got it for $101 including shipping on e-bay a few weeks ago. I'm no pro so can't really comment on quality plus I've not had a chance to really use it yet. EVERYONE says the Panasonic's quality is the best, but you ARE paying a pretty hefty premium for it.

Thanks, I'll keep you in mind. 8-)

It would be a gift, but likely to be "borrowed" on occasion hehehe

Thanks, Charlie. Yes, that's quite a difference in price. I really hate saving money the first time then having to buy something else - so I'd rather get the one for th job first time around.

I'm no pro either, just really fussy. 8-)

I have the Pana tele and it is great. I really debated over the Oly and the Pana with the price being the major issue. But finally just went for the Pana and have not regretted it.

It also comes with a support bracket to better balance the weight on a monopod or tripod; and fits without an adaptor. I have taken a 1000+ pictures with it and the quality is great.

I like the idea of the bracket also - one less thing to buy.

Thanks!

That's quite a hood! I don't think it looks homemade - nice work. Is that the standard tripod mount/bracket tha's included? It looks sturdier than the pics of the bracket by itself. Thanks for the info. 8-)

Yes, it is the standard bracket. It is made of aluminium.
