I was to my inlaws in the country on Sunday and went out for a couple of hours birding. It was a damp dreary day not the best for taking pictures but it's better than hanging around with my mother in law
Most shots with the Sony 1.7x teleconvertor attached, not the best day for putting this through it's paces so I am going to reserve judgement in comparison to my Tcon 14b. Also in this outing I noticed way too many burnt out skys / backgrounds would a ND filter help? Polarizer? all pics with spot focus and metered on the subject.

There are many more pics if you would like to view them at this gallery with these and other species

One more thing ( as if this thread is not long enough when I got back inside the birds were coming to the feeders like crazy, almost everytime I went outside to take a few shots they scattered, so for a lark I thought I would shoot some through the glass and unfortunately screen... but they didn't turn out too bad.

Oriole through a window and screen

Hummer though the same window and screen

again the gallery with the best I shot this day is at

Great pictures. How did you get that little hummer to stay still long enough for you to grab the capture???

Thanks to all for looking and for your comments:-)

rcci, she was just sitting on the branch which is near a feeder, I took the picture from inside though a screen and window, I think having the Sony Tcon still attached in someway made the screen almost "disappear" I am not sure though.
