I got my new FZ5 on Friday, so far I really love it. Of course since I use a tripod a lot, I think Panasonic was nuts to put the SD door on the bottom. So one trip to the hardware store and I rigged up a little fix. This adapter raises the camera two inches so I can get the card in and out.

interesting mod, but how often do you really need to change batteries or memory cards once you've got the cam on the tripod? i've found that if i put in a fresh battery, and keep my memory card cleared (i usually download to my hard drive after every photo session), ican pretty much shoot all day without replacing either. if i do have to remove my camera from the tripod once during the day, it's really no big deal. but so far, the only time i've needed to replace a battery midway through the day was when i neglected to put in a fresh one first thing when i started out...

I guess it's just because of different styles. I'm constantly taking 3 or 4 photos, then transferring to the computer to see how good they are, cropping and e-mailing to relatives etc. I don't go out and shoot for a whole day.
