I enjoy IR with my FZ1. I wanted to see how I could come up with something that would be similar using PP on color originals using my other FZ's. This was with the FZ10.

i like the color picture better . I think the total grey robs this picture .Would possibly look better if the sky was kinda blue along with the runway being a different color

There are some techniques posted online for doing digital IR using only software, but unfortunately I can't find one that I printed off a couple months ago. I've seen some results that could 'fool' most, but I like the 'real deal' as I think the clarity is much greater in them (not having the usual atomospheric contaminations.)

An all 'grey' IR isn't necessarily 'wrong' as the higher numbered lenses cut out more of the near infrared wavelenghs and the 'false colors' don't appear as readily (or at least that is my current understanding (which of course could be totally wrong!)

Having said that, I'd stick with the IR lenses myself.
