I'm trying to create a collage of numerous face images (I use them as cheat sheets in class to help learn the names of my students). I take everyone's picture the first day of class while they are holding a paper with their name on it. Ithen use Photobase to mass reduce the image sizes to around 200x150. The first time I did this I kind of gerry-rigged a collage together but what I would like to do is find some software to cleanly and easilymerge these individual pictures into an image and print it as a 4x6.

Any ideas? Freeware and/or open source software is preferable.
