Nice shots I enjoyed viewing them all, the B&W is quite striking, I wonder if you added a little film grain in PS it would look more film like (since I was brought up on B&W) as it is its sriking and my fav.

Thanks for such positive notes Suze and John!

I struggled a bit with those pics as just could not get seetings right when taking them...but there is always P&P...

For John, here is a very grainy, high contrast black and white of that street performer (I hope that is the effect you meant?) :

Thanks so much. I have been very much encouraged to try and learn to take better pics as a result of this forum. Looking at other, more experienced, people's work has been a learning curve and an inspiration.
I am still trying to learn the basics of digital photography and rely a lot on lucky shots !
One day I hope to actually know what I am doing.......................

ThatThat second version of the street performer is even more striking
With tricky lighting Jus perhaps try bracketing 2/3 EV +and - its onlu a few button presses on the 4 way controller.
