went to the Monkey Jungle yesterday and got some pictures, here are my favorite 6

f/2.8 1/125" ISO80

f/2.8 1/100" ISO80

f/2.8 1/60" ISO100 + Sunpak 383

f/2.8 1/60" ISO100 + Sunpak 383

f/2.8 1/60" ISO80

besides monkeys and apes they also had lemurs, macaws, parrots, sloths, turtles and iguanas. unfortunately most of them were caged in with meshes in the way that didnt allow me to take pictures. i'm in the process of cloning and healing a picture to remove the cage bars from a picture of a macaw but that may take a while to be finished. here's a pic of one of their iguanas.

f/8 1/50" ISO80

Nice to some of relatives featured!

Very nice pics....all very good. Maybe the meditating (in lotus postion!) gorilla could have done with some P&P unsharp or something...but they are just great!
I really dislike zoos though as the animals often suffer and are bored. But maybe in this one they have more space to roam in?

well most of the pics did get some sharpening, so i guess the pic of King(that's his name) was a little soft. this was not a zoo perse, its a lot less animals in 7 acres of land. for example King there was on his own little island, no fences or anything, just a little moat so he wouldnt get to where the visitors were:-)

Hi, I think that you did a fine job. The pictures are splendid. I really like #1 and#4. I visited the Miami area last week and everytime I walked out of the hotel my camera fogged up, so I know what you mean..."hot and sticky"Thank goodness I had a filter on it. Thanks for sharing for pictures. bentleysmom

Max, excellent series. Very nice. I especially liked #2. Been meaning to get out to Monkey Jungle to see what it's like since they moved. I haven't been there since I was a kid.

The judges are working on grading you performance…

And now here are you scores……. Remember folks the lowest score is a 1 and a perfect score is a 10.

For presentation and 8.5

For content a 7.5.

Ladies and gentlemen Max_Pain has taken over the animal category lead and is now in first place.
