Notwithstanding the lack of Hotshoe, manual focus ring and slightly less Tele aperture, FZ5 has some advantages over the FZ20 itself (which I have):

better "Tele" Macro
better battery life
smaller body
better colors and WB (?) (i.e. no yellow cast ?)
less noise
lower price

Considering the last, if it had been available when FZ20 was out, It would have been very hard to decide between these two cameras

i agree. had the FZ5 been available last fall, when i got my FZ20, it's entirely possible it would have been my choice, rather than its big brother... :G
