My grandparents were farmers and almost entirely self-sufficient. They raised or huntedmost of what they needed, and traded for those things they couldn't, such ascoffee, blackpepper, canning jars, etc.My grandmother used to growpoppies in her garden and sometimes made a tea from the pods to treat toothache, post partum pain, broken bones, etc. The pain of living and the drug of dreams ...

Nicely done, #1 especially. I love how you captured the light on the flower. The whole pic has a delicate look about it and is nicely focused.

Hi, Although I'm not qualified to critique your pictures, I can tell you that I think that they are really beautiful. The poppy looks so delicate and lighting shows it off well. The pictures are very appealing to me. Where did your grandparents grow poppies? My grt.,grt. grandparents were farmers that lived in Chatham Co.,N.C. After losing everything and the farm being burned, my grt.grandfather as a boy moved to Florida after the Civil War. His father died in a prison camp at the end of the civil war leaving a wife and 4 small children with nothing. The family was originally from England. Sorry I rambled......I did very much enjoy your pictures. bentleysmom

If I would improve the first one I would move just a tiny bit so the flower would not get clipped on the right....otherwise they are so nice...
Thanks for your comment on my stuff...really appreciated!
