I bought a DMC-FZ1 a couple of months ago and upgraded the firmware immediately. Now I started experimenting with the macro mode, but it doesn´t seem to exist!

Did the upgrade disable this mode or is there something wrong with my camera? Anybody have experience with FZ1/2 macro?

The fz1>fz2 upgrade only adds features, it doesn't take away. The macro mode is still there via the mode dial as it was before. Nothing was changed there. What happens when you set the dial to macro?

Nothing happens, that's the problem.

The minimum distance where I can focus is exactly the same in Macro as it is in other modes.

Macro mode has not been changed by the upgrade. Neither has P mode. You will not be able to focus as close in P as in macro. But A and S priority are now available andthey both exhibit the same macro capability as macro mode. Macro mode has not changed. It's just that A or S also have macro capability.

The fz2 manual is downloadable as a pdf file (7mb) at http://www.panasonic.ca/PDP/Operatin...2ks-oi-eng.pdf

I tried once again and now it seems to work! :?

I don´t know if I had some setting that blocked the macro, anyway now it seems to be OK.
