Hello All,

When I bought FZ15 a couple of months back...I really did not think I will require a external Flash. However, I was wrong...and now I am looking for possibilities of using a slave flash with my FZ15 (as it does not have a hotshoe itself)...If possible.

Has anyone got this set-up?

And how does the slave work with FZ15??

Thanks

I use the DF200 by Vivitar (can not only change angle but also swivel and has a zoom head) for my FZ1v2. Can be had at adorama.com for about $70.

I would use and L-bracket which can be had for $15.

For my FZ10 and FZ20 I got the Digislave 3000 got that at (bugeyedigital.com) which serves as both a hotshoe flash and slave if you put it on a L-bracket. I even used it with my *ist DS and works fine.

Both will work with red-eye reduction setting too.

The slave will work off of your built-in flash. Drop the flash intensity on the onboard flash so you don't get blown highlights. Takes some experimenting but you will soon see some excellent results.

For my money I would get the Vivitar. Got this info from NickTrop and he is spot on with what he reports.

You may also want to look in getting or making a bounce diffuser. You can make one buy cutting it out of an empty vitamin bottle.

Another slave flash that will work with the FZ15 is the Phoenix D92-BZS Digital Slave Flash that you can find at B&H Photo. I would going to post a link, but can't.

It has a built in L-bracket and is about $50 not including shipping.

I have a FZ-15 and the same problem few months ago. I bought this bracket, it has a built-in slave circuit, so you can use virtaully any hot-shoe external flash.

It really work. Be careful to select program 4 or 5 in the bracket (you will understand this once you have the bracket in your hands. I t is very easy.
