Just for fun I decided to stack the Nikon 6T and Tcon 14B to see what I would get. I was pleasantly surprised that I could get decent closeup shots at 24" distance, so I took a series of pics of my watch at 2X, 4X, 6X, 8X, 10X and 12X. All were taken inside with natural window light and used a Sunpak 383 + Sto-fen hood for fill in. P mode on camera. No PP, only resized.

It looks like anything above 8X stats to have purple fringing, but I like the idea that I can shoot macro at 2 feet as long as I keep it at 8X or under....what do you think?

Comments welcome.

First one was taken at 2X zoom

Nice demo, Hiroshi. You have two excellent lens combined and the quality shows. However, I question the need for the combination. The sameimages could have been taken with the 6t alone from a shorter distance. Actually the 5t alonewould probably have come close to the same magnification from the same distance.

Thanks for your input Fred. I didn't realize you could get the same results with the5T. I feel stupid now for posting the results of my experiment.

Having the 2 lenses and alovefor tinkering,I just had to try it out. If I can find suitable step down rings, I would like to try it in front of the 14B for really close macros. If someone has tried it, I would appreciate any input.

The main reason for my experiment is that I'd like to try my hand at bug pics and I figured that being 2 feet away, I'd have a better chance at getting a shot at the little critters.
