Hi all,

I found the FZ forum yesterday, much to my delight.:-) I've owned my 20 just a couple of months now, and until 'here', have had a hell of a time looking for advice / help / knowledge / etc.

Here's a couple of my pics so far.

#1 is a pair of Aussie natives. A Scarlet Honeyeater on board a branch of Bottlebrush.....

Next is one that surprised me. My first weekend with the camera, and very much a novice, I noticed a leaf caught in a spiderweb. I've cloned away some of the web, but still don't understand why the background is so dark, as it was taken in auto macro mode, in broad daylight. !!!

Cheers

Superb pics, well done. The first one looks almost like a greeting card cover!

great pics! you're well on your way. i like the shot of the leaf... very striking! i took a similar one last fall, a leaf hanging from a web. it was a gloomy day, and the flash on my li'l LC43 point-n-shoot went off, washing out the colors of the autumn leaf. when i decreased the gamma correction to correct the blown-out leaf, the background went almost black. i thought it looked kinda cool, so i went back and took the shot a little more carefully... the lovely fall colors look really neat against that black background.

the honeyeater is excellent as well... great focus and exposure, and a perfect complement to the red of the flowers. well done!

Hey thanks everyone for your words of encouragement.

I'm having a ball learning my FZ20, and one day hope to go for a D20 Canon, although that's many days and dollars away. :-)

Here's some 'shoeboxed' chocolate I took the other day.......

Cheers
