Okay Chad and Stoney,

this seems to be our private thread.
So hereĀ“s an answer to your ring light theme.
Maybe you will not need a ring flash device.
Even Nikon offers a Macro Cool-Light SL-1 with 8 LEDs (wow!! 139 Euros ++)
LEDs from the southern hemisphere are inexpensive and powerfull these days.
Night turns into day, and white (as sold) into blue.
Several guys did build nice solutions:
see: http://www.emling-online.de/digital/ringlicht2.html
My cheap solution (2 hours of planning and hard work, as you can see) is much brighter than the "ringlicht".
Even the "white balance" of the FZ5 corrects blue to white.
But I am not satisfied with these cold pictures free of shadows.
Maybe I will send some examples....

But!!! the ringlight brings light into darkness while searching for an adequate focus.
While panasonic (not leica) leaves us standing in the dark, you suddenly have a brilliant LCD just in the middle of the night.
Let the bubble bouncer do the rest!

Please send me some pictures if you should decide to "bounce".
