Came across this house on the way to the beach. Supposably the crumbling rock wall next to it is a retaining wall to prevent erosion. Seems it could stop nature but not time

Nice composition and a great choice to show it in sepia. It reminds me of some of the WW2 pics I've seen of boomed out houses. It's got that kind of feel to it.

Nice work,

Hiroshi

Hi wombat in Perth West australia There's a place called woodmans point a few km from Fremantle, they have the same buildings as you have shown.
They are ammunition storage sheds, the blocks you see surrounding the shed are concrete blocks, the concrete was poured into sacks and left to harden they then built a wall surrounding the shed so they would absorb any future explosion.
The spot you described is almost identical to Woodmans point as that also has a beach at walking distance.

Hi wombat,if you are still in the area follow the path in a S/Westerly direction and you will find the old crematorium that was used when woodmans point was a Quarantine station for the early immigrants. It will be good for a few shots I'm going to go there in the next day or two and also take a few shots of it,you can go inside and still see the ovens. Cheers Raoul
