I really like the composition of the first one. The last one of the anchor is good too but for some reason I wish the bowline wasn't in the shot.
Here you go. What do you think? It looks a little naked to me, the bowline add a little interest and also places the ship at anchor.

Nice shots Hiroshi, I think B&W was a good choice. Where is the waterfront?

Thank you for the compliment.

I'd like to thank Nick Tropand his B&W postsfor inspiring me to get back to my roots. As I've said,I startedwith B&W back in the 60's. It's a powerful photographic format. It has a way of cutting through all that glitters...eye candy (color) that sometimes can be a distraction to what you want the photograph to say.

Hiroshi

Nice B&W's, esp the anchor in pict#5 and pit #2. Real quality and I agree with John's comments.

Call me crazy Ishmel but I like the one without the bowline better. I think the bowline draws your attention away from the anchor but that is just one goober's opinion. Both of them are nice shots.

Ask 10 men their opinions....get 10 different opinions.And that's OK

Can you imagine if we all liked the same thing? What a boring world that would be.
