Great pics! What kind of camera do you use? I have a FZ20, but I don't think it has a tele-macro mode. Did you have to use a tripod? I don't know much about macro shots, but I would love to start taking some - hopefully they will someday turn out this good!

wow! excellent shots!! couldn't ask for better... nice and sharp, clear, contrast and exposure just right!

i wish i could get dragonflies to even LAND within 10 feet of me! i see 'em, but they're always flying a million miles an hour, and they never land anywhere near me. i did find a dead one in my back yard today, but that's the closest i've come to getting one to sit still. i just don't know how all you folks do it...

Thanks everybody for the compliments. I have seen an unsually large amont of dragonflies this year....We have had lots of rain here in north Florida lately......Dragonflies belong to the order Odonata, which is probably the most well known insect having an aquatic stage as part of it's life cycle. Dragonflies live only 6 to 8 weeks. Odonata are beneficial to us here in Florida because they prey on a variety of small insects including misquitoes. When I was a child I used to call them "misquito hawks" lol Iwas very fortunate to get these shots. I'm glad that you enjoyed them. bentleysmom
