In June I was able to go on a life-long dream of an Alaskan Cruise. I took over 700 photos, and thought I would share a few - first bunch is of Eagles we saw in Ketchikan. FZ20 with a TCON-17 Telephoto lens, slight PS level tweak.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed both sets of your photos. The eagles are spectacular and the humpback whale picturesare great.

Mark, thanks for sharing. What kinda range do you believe the 17 gives you on eagles,
with fine detail, and with just a good picture of an eagle?

I'm not sure I can answer that very well - we were in one of those "duck" boats that actually goes out into the harbor, and we cruised past a salmon cannery, so there were lots of eagles around, and all pretty close. I'm guessing these birds were probably from between 30 to 60 yds away (best guesstimate)
