#1- Bright and sharp with good color and detail. Just on the verge of looking to haveblown highlights.

#2 - A tad soft in focus.

#3 - The orange flower is a distracting element.

#4 - Looks good even though a tad soft.

#5 - Love it! Reminds me of home back in Hawai'i.

Overall, great shots but I would try to shoot again with the sun going down and see how it looks.

I like the framing used as well.

Nice pics. The bamboo is my fave!
I feel the frames slightly distract though...perhaps a more simple frame outside might be better??
imho of course.

Thanks for the critique. Very rarely does the wind permit it. It really kicks up in the afternoon.

Sqirl - I agree, they can become a nuisance if not kept under control and in pots.

Picsgalore - Thanks, I hadn't even thought of that. Very poetic.

Jussiuk - Iused the frames, just to do something a little different from my usual posts. I don't have too much choice, this is one of the more subtle frames I have available.

Can you or someone else recommend a good frame program?

Thanks pappy.

I think by the "Lantern affect", you're referring to the body of the flower looking lit up. I just lucked out with the light hitting it just right. Same thing with the bamboo.

Do I feel lucky? You bet!:G

My favorite is the first purple flower (pic #2 - I can't see pic #1). For one, a girl just loves her some purple, and second, it reminds me of Mapplethorpe a little. And I love his work (minus his self portrait where he is inserting a whip - y'all who know him know that photo!). Really nice pictures, and where did you get those frames? I love them.

Welcome back Nancy. Nice to see you post on the Panasonic forum again, and thanks for your comments.

Actually it's unfortunate that #1 is not opening up for you, I think it's the better of the two.

As far as the frames go, I'm glad you like them. They are part of the Digital Image Pro program that I use.The frame choices are limited cause much of what's offeredis mediocre. I'd like to finda more sophisticatedframe program that's easy to use.

Good work

Ahhh, today I am getting your first pic. I like it, and I like what appears to be dirt on the flower pedal, makes it look real. Awesome pics!
