The first one is just excellent all the way around.

The Capitol shot is a bit tilted. Shoot with the thirds display to get the horizon lined up properly. I find that useful when doing landscape shots.

The GIMP is quite impressive but just misses a bit with the IR look.

Colorisation is very, very kewl indeed.

By the way I am coming back out to Sacramento (former 17 year resident)once again in August for two weeks.

Hopefully the heat will not be as blazing as it has been. I know I am fooling myself but can only hope.

Very nice! The red works so well!!!
I would rotate the no4 shot though as the building looks like it's falling to the side...
The subtle frame is nice also!

Thanks for the comments...

Yeah...GIMP is powerful....and I just know 10% of what it can do....
When I look closely the Capitol shot looks tilted...I agree....About IR...more than Gimp it is me who has not got the perfect settings to get that IR look...anyways...I will keep trying...till the time I get better
The picture for selective colorisation was a candid when my wife was putting bangles on my 2.5 yr daughter...I had learned selective colorisation technique some time back...and thought it would go very well with this shot...so tried it out....I am happy the it came out nicely...
And I hope too that the heat is not as much when you make the trip....
