Was at Tioman for the last 4 days for a short break with my family. Was taking some sunsets and while trying to frame a small bush in the fore ground, I happen to notice this colony of bugs....I think they are Plant Bugs, but please correct me if I am wrong.

And it was lots of them. I manage to visit them every day to take some pics, and I even saw one laying eggs, and also one fella guarding the eggs, and on the 3rd day, it hatched!

Will post some here. Taken with FZ10 and Nikon 6T or Sigma CU or both. Ext flash. F/8, various shutter speed.

#1: Introducing...the BUG (rained on the 2nd morning, hence the droplets)

#2:In formation

#3:Laying eggs in a pattern....

#4: Close up of laying

#5:Guarding. This guys was there from day 1 till last day.....really have endurance...

#6: Eggs CLOSE UP with reverse lens. Is that the eye inside???:dunno:

#7: Hatches!!!!

#8: This is what a nymph looks like (reverse lens)

Interesting!

#1 and #2 are definitely larvae. You can see that their wings are not fully developed yet.

Hi, Those are simply amazing! You always have great pictures with very interesting subject matter. I'm always on the lookout for good subject matter. The other day I was sitting on a patio talking with some friends after a game of tennis when a wonderful looking lizzard walked right by me.....of course I watched it and my friends all started to laugh at me watching it.....I just looked at them an said, "Gosh, I wish I had my camera" They love to tease me and they are always amuzed at whatI take pictures of........You do take wonderful pictures, especially macros...... I enjoy seeing your talent. bentleysmom

Very nice shots, but huge Macro-story.

You never end up astonishing me for the technical and stylistical quality of your ... work.
No need to buy National Geographic when Tchuanye is in action.

Really Thanks for presenting us your results.
Have fun

Nar
