Hi squirl,
nice bird and dead sharp.
I played with the telezoom to find your portrait in his eyes......
No success, but the wide zoom revealed this:

yeah, the post was a crop of the original that i thought looked more dramatic. how'd you get the original from the cropped image?

Hi squirl,
you were so nice to publish the exif data in a cropped picture!
(here is my question - how did you do this?? Photoshop cuts off all exifs)
I always look at the pictures with an exif viewer.
This one showed a thumb of the original picture.
But there is a second chance. If I save the thread using mozilla, there is a unused or hidden attachment.jpg of 18kB. This is like the picture I showed.
Nothing magic about it, but the wide zoom story sounded better to me!

Greatshot of the owl's face. The only critique is that it looks a little flat and it has a bit of green cast, almost like looking through haze. Playing with the contrast and brightnesswith atouch ofcolor correction can improve it dramatically. JM2C

Here's what I mean:

P.S. Maybe it's just me, but when I look at the pic, I see Jack Nicholsonshouting the famousline "You can't handle the truth!":G

Squirl, you've got to change your name...cause this would make a great avatar!

seemolf - silly me! i left the EXIF attached!LOL! actually, i resized using Irfanview, which doesn't remove the EXIF data. this one had never been run through photoshop...

Hiroshi - i'm not surprised there was a greenish cast. the background was brightly lit grass, and the bird's face was in relative shadow. some of the greenish light obviously sneaked through, and as i mentioned, this one has not been photoshopped at all... i do like your edit better, though.

Thanks. I just edited and added some comments to my previous post as you were responding. What do you think? Maybe you can rename yourself "Squirly Owl"...:lol::lol::?...don't take me seriously, I'm just having some fun... still, it would make a great AVATAR....why not use it anyway!
