If I had to pick one I would pick #3 and clone out what appears to be power lines in the background. If you could redo #1 and show more sky I think that would improve it. To me #3 needs something more in the picture to offset the large expanse of water. I have seen other pictures of yours and I think you can get a better one for your contest. Of course that's just MHO.

I agree with tcook that you can do better. I like the composition of the first one but it's too dark. Trytaking it in the morning or evening when the sun is lower to give thegrass some color and still get the blue sky and clouds.

If i have to choose from the three, maybe I'll choose #1 as for the point of view and #3 for giving the bigger picture of the protected area itself...

Now just for idea... maybe you should start from what makes this certain area important, as to be protected, is there any specific vegetation type? or habitat?...
or do you think doing landscape panoramic on the border of both protected and area showing human activity might give better picture?

is #3 taken deep in the protected area? as not in everyday view? maybe 'wider' composition will be better, or make the powerline more pronounced? as to make stronger message about human activity impact...

hope that help,

gruß,
nh
