Only a guess but was there more than 79 files to transfer at the time?

Hi dian,
it´s the same with my FZ5.
Sometimes there are 915 to 975 and sometimes there are 999 pictures.
But I never lost a picture this way - so who cares: it´s not a bug, it´s a feature :-)
There is an indexfile which can be irritated. Even pictures with the same number are possible!
Occasionally I viewed pictures directly from the sdcard. This may have disturbed the counter. From now on I will try not to change a single bit on the card outside the camera (write protect on while reading!).
This may solve the "little" and some bigger problems.

Thank for the reply genece, at that time I didn't transfer anything, just finished the shooting, preview the photos I've taken in the lcd that I saw the photos reached 920, thenI chargedthe battery, then the morning after that day I took some photos again as usual, then viewed them on the pc, then found the file number isnot continued from 920 to 921, 922, 923,..., 999 in 100_pana folder, but jumped from 920 to 001, 002, 003,.. in 101_pana folder.

So the problem are not where the pictures , but why the number of that pictures does not reach 999 before the next folder created, just as the manual indicated.

I'msorry for my english, thanks for the attention.

Hi dian,
there are more than 7000 photos and I still like the camera very much.
Most of these photos were macros. I am testing different light conditions and closeup lenses (posted in the closeup forum).
It is fun to explore the limits of this camera and its tricky autofocus!

It's the same with my FZ3. My theory is the following: If the counter reaches a value >900 and you stop photographing for some hours, then a new folder is created for the next shooting to prevent having the photos of one shooting in two different folders.
