Anyone know if there is a resolution to the LCD issues where the display goes dark under low light conditions? I have not checked for a while there was not one a while back but thought I would check and see if there had been a firmware update or something.

hi pwiles,

we need a pana hacking group .....

I think there will be no firmware update, panasonic thinks their cameras are perfect and at least they fit all the criteria advertised! For me this is ok, I read the tests and accept the status quo. There are no serious bugs.

I use the workaround shown in my avatar. A simple LED construction (there may be less than 50!) gains up the LCD with objects up to 5m or more. It works like a torch (this may help too!) and is a fairly useable macrolight.

ps I like your avatar!

Panasonic swears its not fixable with firmware...Seems as though it might be addressed in the FZ30.

We haveDiscussed that feature many times, and the best we got was Panasonic quit calling it a feature.

And that blue type is hard to read.
