My weekly shoot today. Saw this yellow ladybird. Notice that it has a trasparent flap across the eyes...similar to that of a tortise beetle.

Is the red ladybird like this? Perhaps fellow macroers can comment if you have seen one?

Use my FZ10+6T+Sigma CU, F8, Ext flash, ISO 100, various shutter speed.

#1: The highway (can see the DOF is very shallow....)
ExposureTime : 1/160Sec


#2: Close up: Reversed lens
ExposureTime : 1/250Sec

Not sure if you were referring to the red ladybug but, if so, they do not have the transparent flap over their eyes.

european ladybugs donĀ“t need such umbrellas. (against sun or rain?)

.... but with a second view I found a small transparent area around the front shield.
Never noticed this before, maybe the whole shield is transparent too, but you can see this only with the your perfect light - compliments!
