I am considering the above purchase as my first extension for my fz10. Can you all comment please on its suitability and whether or not you'd buy anything else first instead?

Cheers

I have one and use it frequently but IMHO the Vignetting limits its usability.

If I had it to do over I do not think I would buy it again.

If you are sure you need that much power go for it but understand its not much use under 12X.

It is the best 2X lens I have seen.

Of the Lens I have used the Tcon 14 B is the best all around lens followed by the Tcon17.

But there are some verygood reports on the Minolta ACT100

A lot of this is a matter of choice.

Thanks

Is the vignetting really that bad? Guess I was taken in by the manufacturers pics.

I saw that olympus also do a 3x lens too. Any idea if that is as good as the other tcons you mention?

Cheers again

Here is a link to some photos I am not sure how it will open you may have to click the show all button at the bottom, But all these were taken with the 2020pro and the exif is there to show the power.

That 3X lens is much worse it is made for cameras with a smaller lens.

There are 80 photos make sure you see the last few.

Get the 1.54x instead. It's a much better lens and you'll be happier with it overall. The 2.2x has a lower resolution, and in my experience, is not well mated to the FZ series cameras (I have an FZ-20).

Hope this helps.

I bought the 2020 and returned it. Much happier with the 14B and B300 (TCON-17).
