I've had two, count 'em, two close calls over the past week because of the tethered lens cap. When I attempted to pick my fz20 up, the lens cap got caught on something or other and I nearly dropped the camera. First time, it didn't really registerwhat happened, but when I realized after the second time that it was the lens cap, I immediately removed it. Now I've taken the string off, and I keep the cap in my pocket.

Anyone else had this issue?

That's interesting -- my FZ20 has a lens cap alright, but there's no tether. How old is your FZ20? I've had mine less than a month. Maybe the tether was phased out at some point?

Got this one with the Phayee adapter. Seems like a great idea 'cause you never misplace the lens cap butbetter tolose the cap than lose the camera.

I use flip down lens caps with the FZ cameras as I have made homemade hoods for them but I used tethered caps on several other cameras and never had that problem, maybe theleash is too long or needs attached in a different manner.

I would agree I would rather lose a cap but there should be a happy medium.
