I am planning to buy FZ3 soon. But many people said the noise problem in FZ3 is quite serious, especially for the night shot. Is that true ? Did anybody have photos taken buy FZ3 ? :O

Hi

I'm a newbie here in these forums but I've owned an FZ3 for about 10 months now. I've taken some nite pics without flash not long after I got my camera. You can take a look at them by following the link below.

These pics were all taken handheld and at P mode at ISO200, 1/4sec and F2.8. They were all taken at the highest 3mp Fine setting but have all been resized for posting.

I was so eager to test out the camera to check the noise level I just went out and snapped a few shots.None have been post-processed and are right out of the camera. They are not the best shots so feel free to comment on them so that I can improve.

Thanks and regards.

FZ3 and 5 are great cameras, probably the best UZ small-compact, with S2IS.
I would recommend FZ5, but also FZ3 is very fine despite the lower resolution.
Noise is average/low

I've got an FZ3 and though I can find noise in some shots it's not any worse than many other cameras I've seen. You can get some clean ISO200 shots but not every one will be. ISO400 is pretty bad but most point and shoot digicams seem to be very bad by 400. Really, IMO for the price the FZ3 is an outstanding camera.

The full size shots both show a bit more noise but the 200 speed shot can be turned into an ok print. The 400 shot I'm not sure I'd print out unless I had to.

I think the daylight photos is really acceptable. But for low light photos, the noise is quite high ! But not really bad ! But anyway, thanks for sharing the photos !
