Hi,

I've been using the following lenses on my FZ20: Olympus TCON17, Raynox 2.2X, and Raynox wide-angle. Now that I'm upgrading to the FZ30, I need to make sure all my lenses are going to work.

I understand that the FZ30 has a 55mm thread. I assume that this is female (camera hasn't arrived yet), so my TCON17 (male) should screw in directly without any adapter. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My Raynox 2.2X lens is 62mm male. B&H sells a 55-62mm filter step-up ring, which I think should work (62mm female & 55mm male threads). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My Raynox wide-angle lens has 52mm female threads. The Raynox RA5255 adapter should do the trick. Again, corrrect me if wrong. I need to do a little research to find out where to buy this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jim

That is correct and it only vignettes up to about 4X

That is also correct.. get the Kenko one as its very thin. And the 2020 pro works much better on the FZ30 only vignettes to about 7X and seems much clearer at least it does to me.

Correct again and get the rings here and get the Kenko brand as they are pretty thin.

And you want a 55mm to 62mm stepup ring for the 2020

And a 55mm to 52mm stepdown ring for the WA

http://www.2filter.com/prices/produc....5_to_58_Rings

Also look on their Filter page the have the Hoya super HMCpro 1 UV filter its real thin also with front threads for 47 dollars or so but when you add it in the cart its 37 dollars.

Thats a good deal.

Thanks for responding. I'm very excited about the FZ30 and want to get all my adapters ordered so I'll be ready to go when the camera arrives. After having owned the FZ10 & FZ20 (64mm male threads), it's counterintuitive to think in terms of female threads.

I'll be selling the FZ20 shortly on eBay, as well as the Yoshida and Raynox adapters. If anyone is interested, please contact me privately and I'll make you a sweetheart deal.

Jim :-)
