Took leave today to bring my family out to a Bird Park. Did not take much macros....only of a damsel and a Lory (colourful bird). The bird was something new, as it was a larger than my usual subjects (obviously), but I wanted to take the eyes.....so used my set up to approach them slowly and take the shot.....most are blur as they moved...this is one of the very few acceptable ones.

Appreciate any comments on them.

FZ10+6T+Sigma CU, EXt flash bounce, F8, ISO 50 various speed

#1: Damsel Side
1/250s

#2: Damsel close up
1/160s

#3: Damsel: Balance.....experimenting with this composition....leaf at left to balance the DF on the right.
Taken with 6T only
1/250s

And what is bird park w/o birds right?
#4:Lory
1/200s

close to perfection!

#2 is a bit too symetric at the first view, but I guess this has to be symetric!
#4 is a bit too close? - but very (!) nice
#1,#3: outstanding

thanks for sharing!

Beautiful job on all. A especially like the vibrant colors on the parrot...powerful without being overdone.

You really do set the standard for Macros around here tchuanye, amazing stuff. I havent done much macro of late, a little to cool for the little critters. Hopefully with the warming weather I will be able to get out and try my luck.

I agree with Treemonkey.

Your photographic skill (united with FZ10, macro lenses, ext flash and PP capabilities) make up a great results.

Not easy to see such images also in galleries by pros (and by pro-camera users).

I only wished #3 was larger in size and, again, your frames did add something to the electronic image (although I agree that they are not good for prints)

Sincere Thanks to you all for your comments and compliments.....

Well, I try to do my best in making the best of the equipment....if I had more $, I may contemplate moving to KM5D......but for now, the FZ10 will do....

Narmer, I have enlarge the #3 as requested.
