When I turn on the camera to live view, i get a blue screen that says "Remove lens cap and press set". However, when I do this the camera tries to focus for a few seconds and then goes back to the blue screen. What to do?Samantha

Samantha, I can only suggest that you remove the battery and let the camera sit for about 24 hours. Then replace the battery and see if the camera will respond.

Chances are, this camera will have to be returned to Panasonic for repair. Unfortunately, the repair might prove to be more expensive than a new camera.

I am not familiar with the LC40, but I do have an LC5, which I think is similar in many respects. I was fortunate in that it was still under warranty when it stopped responding in a way that was very much like what you describe.
