Hi, I am going to South Africa in a couple of months, and would really like to get telephoto and macro lenses for my FZ-5. I am a total newbie, and got confused when looking through other threads about this subject. I have looked at these two lenses, and I am wondering if they are worthwhile, or if I should look for something else. Any advice would be appreciated.

Telephoto: http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/dcr/...0pro/index.htm

Macro: http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/dcr/...exdcr250eg.htm

Also, these two lenses come with adaptors for 52 and 58mm lenses. Would this work for my FZ-5? I apologize for being so overwhelmingly uninformed...

The raynox 2.2x tele is a monster lens that wiil really put alot of stress on the fz5 adapter. There also may be some vignetting even at full zoom. I suggest getting the oly tcon17 which is still kind of big for the stock adapter, which, being plastic, is not very suitable for larger higher quality teles. There is a fairlydirect modification involving plastic removal and simply sliding a raynox rt5264p adapter over the fz5 adapter. See http://www.ishots.net/fz5/modified_fz5_adapter.htm That arrangement will handle the larger teles with no problem.

The raynox dcr250 is an excellent macro lens but withsuch ashallow depth of field and short working distance (about 5") as to make it's use limited. I would recommend a +3 diopter lens such as the nikon 4t. Quite a bit more useful.

Thanks fmoore, I appreciate your advice. Not only is the Olympus lens smaller, but it is cheaper as well (at least when I did a quick search on ebay). In your opinion, will this lens, even though it is cheaper, give less vignetting?
