As I was putting frames on these 3 photos, I was inspired to write a companion poem. Because trees are all around us, we sometimes forget their presence and their importance and influenceon our lives:

TREES

Trees live all around us.

Scenery is always more beautiful through their framing branches.

They stand in silence, with only theoccasional groan

uttered in protest to the mighty wind pressing at their stance.

They ask for nothing and give everything.

They provide shade and comfort from the radiant sun.

They provide the fruitto nourish our bodies healthy and strong.

They provide the wood to cook our food, build our houses

and then give themselves for fuel to keep us warm inside.

Without them, we could not have built our great ships and wagons

to travel and discover new andexoticdistant lands.

From their bodies we fashion vessels, tools and equipment

to ease our burden and help make our earth'sjourney a pleasant one.

Trees are a selfless lot.

They stand ever vigilant, quietly proclaiming the glory of God.

Thanks Harriet,

I don't know about the talent, but the passion is there, and I guess that's something.

I think it's more like the old saying about the 10% inspiration and the 90% perspiration, cause I sure sweat allot over this stuff.
